Welcome to The Winters: A Sims 3 Random Legacy. My name is Lulu, and as you might guess by the title, this is a blog for my Sims 3 Random Legacy featuring the Winters family. You can find the Random Legacy rules
And here we have our founders, Dawn and Rowan Winters.
Dawn is a Collector. I realize now I forgot to add it to their cards, but Dawn’s LTW is The Culinary Librarian. Dawn has been the founder of many challenges as I experimented with the Sims 3 again. It’d been a while since I’d played. I really like her design ^.^ Her husband, Rowan, is a Farmer. Rowan’s LTW is The Perfect Garden. As Rowan heads to the grocery store to pick up some produce for his garden, Dawn greets a walk-by. Kenji Midden begins making unwanted advances, but Dawn goes on to befriend him anyway. Although they have the money for a basic house, I don’t start them with one for various reasons. Mostly laziness. But they do own the requisite hamper, and Dawn wished for a stove. The stove leads to a cooking point wish, which leads to a Cooking Class wish. Career Student is the goal of this generation, so Dawn heads to class. Rowan, meanwhile, gets started on his garden. Class complete, formal Dawn begins collecting. I’m not familiar with Appaloosa Plain’s layout without a Collection Helper, but I manage to track down a few critters which sell for a pretty penny. Once his garden is planted, Rowan goes fishing for fertilizer. Taming wild critters is remarkably easy and fast. The horse clan doesn’t care for Rowan invading their fishing spot. Dripping wet formal Dawn can’t catch this Falcon for some reason, so she just watches it instead. Falcon is a wild falcon, not a pet. Scouring the landscape, I find Bigfoot! And some enormous bones. But not many collectables. I build them a small shack for a bed and toilet, for a little privacy and mostly to keep them out of the sun. They begin eating on the toilet, one of my least favorite features. Gross. A few days of manually scouring the landscape is enough for me. Dawn begins inventing. Dawn can’t sell her inventions, but she can make a miner. I forgot how long it takes to dig for scrap, and she’s here long into the night, and filthy to boot. Natural Cook means she won’t start kitchen fires (I think), but Dawn manages an early fire anyway. The neighbors gather ’round to watch Dawn fail to put this fire out. Luckily Daredevil Nadine there and her little smile manage it no problem. They share a giggle over how silly Dawn looks. And then a meteor crashes into the house and half the garden. Unfortunately, Rowan was working in the garden at the time. Umm, but luckily, this is all just a dream~! Okay, so, I don’t normally reload after bad things happen, but I don’t want to fail this challenge before it even starts. It occurs to me now that I could have found Dawn a new husband and continued that way, since they have no children at this point… But, uh, too late, next panel! Totally alive Rowan heads to the consignment shop to sell his first harvest. They take a break from their hard work to snuggle up and have some fun together. Fulfilling their wishes to woohoo reminds both of them to wish for children, so back to bed with them! Dawn is successful, and finally invents the miner! Now to dig up enough to make up for all the scrap I had to buy to get this far. The neighbors start coming over to complain about the noise. We have a lot of neighbors. All of them hate Dawn now. Our lot attracts a magician. Ooh, shiny! I’ve never actually used the miner before, so I have some fun exploring. Pregnant Dawn jumps down to investigate. Lest you forget him, Rowan earns the Master Planter skill challenge one day while gardening. Dawn climbs out of the hole to go into labor in the rain. Meet baby girl, Sage Winters! Sage had Good locked in, and I randomly roll Excitable for her second trait. Sage is a Gemini who enjoys Roots music, Mushroom Omelettes, and the color Sea Foam. Rowan is quick to prove he can be a good father. Dawn manages to dig up some Tiberium, which grows and affords us a house. I spare you the tour, because it’s just a few rooms slapped together around a nursery. I’ll build a real house for Gen 2, I promise! At the consignment shop, Dawn spies a Bottled Curse of the Lycan, and scoops it up for herself. She’s now a werewolf! This causes her to wish for a second child. Rowan is happy to oblige with his own wish. They hit up the shower for the first attempt. When that doesn’t work, Dawn waits patiently for Rowan to wake up. There we go. Attempt number two is successful! Unfortunately, Dawn has terrible morning sickness this time around. Pregnant Dawn heads back to her natural habitat. Meanwhile, Rowan heart-sparkles over alien Exe To’Vedachot. We spared his life earlier, so no cheating for Rowan. It’s Sage’s birthday! We get a gift of the Collection Helper, but it goes unused. Sage is Good and Excitable, but looks awfully angry about it. After a few goes at the Apocalypse Challenge, I’m used to having kids with no cribs. My toddlers sleep on the floor. It’s so much easier than getting them in and out of the cribs. Once again, Dawn climbs out of the hole to give birth. She doesn’t really get much from these expeditions, so she’ll probably stop. Meet the twins, Storm and Sky Winters! Storm randomized Athletic and I assigned her Genius. Storm is a Taurus who enjoys Chinese music, Firecracker Shrimp, and the color yellow. Sky randomized Virtuoso and I also assigned her Genius. Sky is also a Taurus who enjoys Latin music, Crepes, and the color lime. Both girls are werewolves. Dawn gets back to inventing as she’s so close to a time machine. Tired Rowan wakes up to celebrate his surprisingly early adult birthday. Rowan has a midlife crisis. His first wish is to get a divorce. But no can do, Rowan! You and Dawn were literally made for each other. Pregnancies over (we rolled for three), Dawn is finally free to transform. Blue-collar Rowan wishes for a makeover. He also wants to build some muscle. I miss their birthdays, apparently, but Sky grows up with randomly brown hair. She’s a Genius Virtuoso, if you recall. Storm just grows up adorable. She’s an Athletic Genius. Rowan wishes for an expensive car, so here it is. I recently successfully raised triplets with a single working father, so these three are easy by comparison. Too-dark Rowan rolls wishes to cheat on Dawn. I’m not sure how Rowan is so much older than Dawn. Dawn still has 9 days as a Young Adult. Sage’s birthday comes soon enough! Sage now has a Good Sense of Humor, on top of being Good and Excitable. She still looks pretty angry. Those eyebrows ^.^ Rowan wishes for another date with Maisy Miller-Riffin. Luckily, they keep to light flirting and don’t become romantic interests. Storm comes out to take a nap on the frozen lawn. I’m sure Social Services is fine with this. Dawn pauses hunting to look at the shiny sparkles! Dawn: Argh! No, run! I discover that toddler Werewolves can practice hunting. Not only is this adorable, but she finds a Lite nanite! Dawn invents the time machine, and heads back to the past to see what she can find. Ackerly grows up with Sage! Toddler skilling is a little pointless given the nature of a Random Legacy, but I do it anyway. They’ve got to do something. Werewolf Dawn sets herself on fire again. She had a wish to Master Inventing, and she is close, but I give up after this. She’s not close enough. And then a random child appears in my kitchen, with nary a pop-up warning me about her. She also appears in my household. Meet Nakia Winters. She’s a Hot-Headed, Over-Emotional Artist. I assume she came out of the time machine. She has black hair, but Dawn’s skin and eyes. She’s also a werewolf. Nakia is a Leo who enjoys Island Life music, Vegetarian Lobster Thermador, and the color spiceberry. Nakia is ineligible as an heir because we only rolled for three, but I suppose she’s cute enough to keep around. And this is where I leave you for this action-packed first entry. Hopefully, this is the last of Generation Two, and also my game crashed ^.^
